A SERIES OF DEVOTIONS BASED ON THE BOOK OF HEBREWS
YOU CAN CONFIDENTLY GO INTO THE PRESENCE OF YAHWEH – Part III
Hebrews 10:19-22 “Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.”
A third devotion based upon verses 19-22 of Hebrews chapter 10 . . .
There are many today who no longer recognize the blessing Jesus has won for them to come near to their Heavenly Father through Him. They have rejected the salvation He won for them. They want nothing to do with the eternal place Jesus has gone into heaven to prepare for them.
But for you and all your fellow believers, members of the Body of Christ, individually and corporately to go together with Jesus, come near to God through Him and present your offerings, prayers, and praise. You can do this with boldness and confidence.
Nothing prevents you from going into the presence of God through Jesus. You and entire body of believers in Jesus have been sprinkled with the blood of Jesus and washed with pure water. You have been washed with the pure water of Holy Baptism. You have been made holy and clean by the power of the Holy Spirit through the precious water of this sacrament. Your heart is sprinkled with the blood of Jesus through your reception of the Holy Supper He instituted for you for this very purpose.
Since you are washed and you are sprinkled with the blood of Jesus no sin remains to disqualify you from coming into Yahweh’s presence. In His sight you are sinless. You are Holy. You are pure.
Prayer: Jesus, Savior, draw me to You by the power of Your Holy Spirit for you in turn to draw me to Your heavenly Father. In your holy name. Amen.
Draw us to Thee, For then shall we Walk in Thy steps forever
And hasten on Where Thou art gone To be with Thee, dear Savior.
Draw us to Thee, Lord, lovingly; Let us depart with gladness
That we may be Forever free From sorrow, grief, and sadness.
Draw us to Thee, O grant that we May walk the road to heaven!
Direct our way Lest we should stray And from Thy paths be driven.
Draw us to Thee That also we Thy heav’nly bliss inherit
And ever dwell Where sin and hell No more can vex our spirit.
Draw us to Thee Unceasingly, Into Thy kingdom take us;
Let us fore’er Thy glory share, Thy saints and joint heirs make us.
