Ministry Opportunities

Dinner for Six

Dinner for Six is an excellent social activity designed to help us become acquainted with fellow members. Members simply sign up for a given three-month period. The Dinner for Six Coordinator pairs up six members (couples and/or singles) who get together once a month for three months. Participants host a meal on a rotating basis—either in a home or a restaurant per group consensus. After three months, new sign ups are made and all who sign up are placed into new groups to meet new people.

Hospitality Committees

Hospitality includes two separate committees.

  • Crown of Life is a congregation ministering regularly to “God’s people in transition.” When a loved one dies, Hospitality—Funeral Celebrations hosts a reception following the funeral celebration.
  • Hospitality—Special Events serves at all other social events such as New Member Orientation Luncheons, Faith Forum, Christmas Day Dinner, etc.

Out-to-Lunch

Once a month a group of ladies heads for a local restaurant (chosen by the day’s host) to enjoy good food and terrific fellowship! Every lady is invited to attend.

Quilt Club

Only basic skills are necessary to prepare “tied” quilts for orphanages, half-way shelters, hospital nurseries, etc. These casual and friendly gatherings are great ways to serve our Lord and make great friends!

Stitchers Group

The Stitchers group meets concurrently with the Quilting group, joining to create and donate to local charities i.e. crochet/knit mats for the homeless (from plastic bags), baby items, hats/scarves/blankets for veterans’ groups.  All skills welcome – no special skills required.  Contact Lola Leshney 623-826-9237 or lolaleshney@yahoo.com
